The Operations Manager (Compliance Operations & Retail Deposits (OM) will report directly to the Chief Officer - Centralized Operations (CO) and will be responsible for establishing a new department by consolidating key functions within the Bank.
This is a highly challenging and multi-faced role, requiring a proactive individual who can quickly grasp the bank's products, systems, and procedures while effectively taking ownership of critical tasks and procedures.
Role:
Compliance Operations:
- Lead a team in the customer due diligence process, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, while identifying and reporting potential risks across banking products and services.
- Oversee the onboarding and Know-Your-Business (KYB) processes for Third-Party Providers (TPPs), conducting regular reviews per Bank policies.
- Manage a small portfolio of corporate banking accounts, ensuring compliance with ongoing monitoring and reviews in line with Bank policies.
- Collaborate with the compliance department to stay updated on regulatory requirements and propose necessary changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
Retail Deposits:
- Assume full ownership of the Bank’s Retail Deposits function, managing deposit inflows and outflows.
- Actively collaborate with the internal treasury department to assess market conditions, review portfolio status, and execute liquidity management strategies.
- Manage relationships with third-party providers, monitoring associated costs.
- Explore opportunities to launch new Retail Deposit products in new markets.
- Provide regular reports to the CO on portfolio status, KPIs, market conditions, projects, improvements, and any arising issues.
- Lead the initiative to implement or acquire a new back-end system, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and operational goals.
General/Reporting:
- Take ownership of regulatory reporting for back-office operations, collaborating with the MLRO to address compliance requirements, the Finance department for financial reporting obligations, and the PMO to streamline and automate processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide support to the PMO on an as-needed basis, particularly with research and analysis related to regulatory requirements and operational practices. Act as a key liaison between operations and compliance, ensuring alignment with external regulations while driving improvements in efficiency and process effectiveness.
- Perform additional duties as requested by the CO.
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Banking, Finance, Business or equivalent.
- 5+ years minimum experience within a similar role.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
- Ability to manage time effectively.
- Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision as well as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in handling sensitive information.
