The 'Deputy Operations Manager (Retail Deposits) will report directly to the Operations Manager (OM) with main focus of responsibilities over the Retail Deposits function of the Bank but also involvement within the Bank's card product.
This is a very challenging position that requires a pro-active and hands-on individual to hit the ground running, learn intimately the bank products, systems and procedures whilst taking over the tasks and processes quickly.
Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of the Retail Deposits function of the Bank being “Online Deposit Platforms” but also “Direct Propositions”.
- Keep abreast of market conditions, internal portfolio situation and internal company liquidity requirements in order to propose and manage deposit inflows and outflows.
- Manage daily data input with the Operations team with focus on implementing, and communicating clear procedures as applicable, as well as automation.
- Work closely with the Finance team to ensure efficiency, clarity, and accuracy of all relevant regulatory reporting.
- Keep abreast with regulatory requirements in the landscape proposing changes when required.
- Manage all relevant third-party costs and relationships especially but not limited to ODP providers and Marketing partners.
- Improve and manage a reporting dashboard clearly outlining inflows & outflows, planned maturities, CPA (cost per acquisition), competitor analysis and deposit values.
- Liaise with the Bank’s PMO for the creation and/or acquisition of a new back-end system in order to manage the product, customers and all relevant reporting.
- Explore and propose possibilities for launching new Retail Deposit products in other markets.
Other Responsibilities:
- Assist the OM in the management of the team’s operational responsibilities over prepaid and credit card products.
- Assist the OM in the management of important third parties including Mastercard, Card Management Providers and Card Production Providers.
- Manage related Third-Party Providers on-boarding and KYB processes. Perform regular reviews as per Bank policies and procedures.
- Report regularly to the OM on portfolio status, KPI’s, current projects, suggested improvements, and specific issues.
- Execute ad hoc tasks as may be requested by the OM.
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Banking, Business or equivalent;
- 5+ years’ minimum experience within a similar role.
- Exceptional communication and organisation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
- Ability to manage time and prioritise work.
- Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision as well as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in handling sensitive information.
